Data Sources

Last updated: 3 September 2026

GeoScale uses authoritative public address datasets as the foundation of its geographic-data services.

GeoScale transforms, normalizes, combines, indexes, and ranks source data to provide a consistent API across countries. The data exposed through GeoScale therefore differs in structure and presentation from the original datasets.

Source authorities do not sponsor, endorse, certify, or otherwise approve GeoScale unless expressly stated otherwise.

Paradigm

GeoScale uses address information from the Addresses layer of the UrbIS dataset. The dataset incorporates address information from the Brussels regional BeSt Address register.

The UrbIS dataset also contains buildings and cadastral parcels. Separate third-party rights may apply to individual dataset components; in particular, the cadastral-parcel layer originates from the Belgian Federal Public Service Finance.

Processing and modifications

GeoScale does not redistribute the source datasets unchanged. GeoScale may normalize data models, transform fields, combine related records, generate identifiers, localize values, index addresses, calculate or transform representations, and rank results for use through the Services.

References to source datasets and authorities on this page are provided for attribution and transparency. They do not imply that the relevant authority has reviewed, approved, or endorsed GeoScale's processing or Services.

Data freshness

GeoScale periodically imports updated versions of its source datasets. Update frequencies vary by country and source, and there may be a delay between publication of an upstream change and its availability through GeoScale.

The linked source pages provide additional information about the underlying datasets, including their publication and update schedules.
